Wozniacki WTA Champion 2010
Dane Caroline Wozniacki photos will appear on every tennis website and sports news channel after securing a year-end world number 1 in the Women Tennis ranking after claiming a 3-6 6-1 6-1 win over Francesca Schiavone as part of the Doha tennis tournament that’s counted as one of the major WTA Championships.
Wozniacki, who entered the tennis book of records for becoming the first Dane to become the WTA champion and number 1 in women tennis standings, was in need of 2 wins at this WTA final tennis tournament to secure a top WTA spot. Luckily, the Qatar based tournament carried the best for Wozniacki as she guaranteed her leadership over the Women Tennis association.
Zvoraneva, seeded number 2 in the WTA ranking, had threatenned to grasp the top spot of the Women Tennis standings away from the tennis racket of Wozniacki but, unfortunately, her effort to out-pace the 20 years old Dane were proved useless.
Wozniacki, interviewed by a large number of sports news journalists and tennis experts, acknowledged that the "2010 has been the most amazing year in my career during which I realised my dream of becoming the world number 1. Capturing the year-end world number 1 ranking is a huge accomplishment for me and I am thrilled that all the hard work has paid off."
After swinging away Elena Dementieva in her Group opener, Wozniacki had to recover from a stunning defeat against Sam Stosur, which gave Zvonareva a mere hope to end the WTA season as the number 1 in women tennis rankings. Nevertheless, the 20 years old tennis player swinged her tennis racket accurately versus Schiavone, the Italian Open tennis tournament champion.
Speaking of the Italian Open champion, Schiavone had raced into a 4-1 lead, which urged Wozniacki's father and coach Piotr to walk towards the tennis court and encourage her. The Dane rapidly thumped a trio of tennis aces at 5-3 before reaching the rennis set point and delivering a tennis backhand winning slam.
By claiming the 2nd set of the tennis match, Wozniacki took the upper hand by breaking in the 1st game of the 3rd; Italian Schiavone made a courageous stand during the 4th game as both tennis players demonstrated what the tennis tickets were worth from the perspective of all tennis fans that enjoyed a proficient tennis match full of tennis techniques before cheering the Dane’s win of her 4th match point.
The win gives Wozniacki a Doha Tennis ticket into the semi-finals; as the youngest player on the tennis field, the Danish tennis athlete has already won 6 WTA 2010 titles before breaching the top spot in the WTA rankings. Wozniacki had topped the standings of the world tennis after reaching the quarter-final match of the China Open that she cruised along to become its eventual winner.
Since the 2010 Wimbledon tennis tournament, Wozniacki had accumulated a tennis record of 31-3 in 7 tennis tournaments played, claiming 25 wins out of her last 27 played tennis fixtures.
Furthermore, Danish idol became the 10th tennis player ever to end the tennis season as the world number 1 since the WTA ranking system was launched back in the year 1975.
Only a trio of tennis players younger than Wozniacki were able to master the same achievement; all 3 were considered as legends in WTA as well as some of the best tennis players ever: Martina Hingis, Monica Seles and Steffi Graf.
