F1 Monza Grand Prix Results

Fernando Alonso held Jenson Button from escaping with the points and the F1 standings while Lewis Hamilton had to retire early in the Monza Grand Prix due to a collision with the Ferrari F1 racing car. On the Red Bull Racing team of the story, Mark Webber's 6th spot in the F1 rankings harshly closed the gap as the drivers' championship ignited consequent to the Italian Grand Prix results.

Scuderia Ferrari was eager to set a win on home soil; racing onto the racing track of Monza, the Ferrari f1 drivers needed to demonstrate a serious effort after enduring from a tough weekend in Belgium. The crowds in Monza Grand Prix constituted a major factor to motivate Alonso and Massa who were able to rank among the top 3 in the F1 pole positionning prior to the grand prix.

Button and Alonso were leading the way, away from the troops of F1 cars; with all eyes set on Sebastian Vettel after being heavily criticized by the F1 news, F1 rumors, F1 experts and by Red Bull Formula 1 team itself, was caughed as he radioed the pit, telling the Red Bull engineers that engine was in trouble. With cautious driving techniques being applied, Vettel had to let Webber pass by… Amazingly, Vettel swiftly managed to find his original rhythm and F1 driving techniques with an engine going back to top performance.

Drama occurred around the race’s midway; with motorsport council rushing to examin the safety measures after Sakon Yamamoto knocked over a radio man during the stop, FIA officials had to glance at the pit lane being briefly closed as the ambulance got in for medical assistance… luckily, no serious injuries were acquired.

With all F1 drivers stopping for refueling and changing their racing wheels (Bridgestone Soft Compund and Bridgestone Hard Compound), F1 strategies were put into action… with Button opting to enter the Pit Stop on the 37th lap, Spaniard Fernando Alonso hit the pedal of his Ferrari and created an advantage ahead given that he was willing to stop too.

Remarkably, Vettel Red Bull formula one car was supposed to end the race with no pitting; with 1 lap remaining, Red Bull racing team called Vettel in for refueling. What looked for some as a huge mistake, was indeed a successful formula 1 strategy given that Vettel managed to grab the 4th spot due to entering the pit late…
