New WBA Champion Beats Valuev
New boxing world heavyweight champion
David Haye, the new WBA heavyweight champion 2009 claimed the title after facing the Russian giant and former WBA champion Nikolai Valuev.
Haye (29 years old) was able to win thanks to boxing decision that directed the verdict in favor of the british fighter; Haye used his boxing gloves, boxing techniques of punching and his advantage of speed in order to out-pace and out-score the Russian Valuev (2.13 m and 143kg) in a boxing game of 12 rounds at the boxing ring that was hosted in Nuremberg, last Saturday.
Former boxing cruiserweight champion David Haye has been waiting impatiently to fight with one of the IBF or WBO champion (Wladimir Klitschko) and Brother Vitali Klitschko (WBC champion).
Under the rules of WBA boxing, Haye must at 1st defend his fighting title against the 2-times prior boxing champion Ruiz, the obligatory fighter who cruised into the battle to allow Haye to reach the title was Valuev.
Nevertheless, Haye declared to the boxing live TV broadcasters and to the fighting newspapers, consequent to his return to London, that he did not expect that the American John Ruiz to front the same troubles that were present during the fight against Valuev.
In the words of the world fighter, Haye was reported saying: "I feel I will knockout John Ruiz after beating someone 7'2" tall. Someone who is a foot shorter and the same weight as me, it will feel like another cruiserweight fight."
Boxing odds, boxing betting sites and boxing bookmakers were all set to witness a new Valuev domination over the heavyweight boxing but things turned into another direction; marketing and advertising for the game played a major role in preparing for Haye's domination, especially through insulting Valuev on live boxing television. The game was broadcasted onto several sports channels, but reached the top number of viewers thanks to HBO boxing channel.
