Federer Nadal Expert Comparison

ATP Stats and World Tennis Stats

Swiss Maestro Roger Federer is currently ranked 3rd in the ATP rankings and has won only 2 tennis tournaments in 2010; Federer is the direct competitor of Rafael Nadal, the ranked number 1 in world tennis standings.

9-times men's doubles Grand Slam champion Jonas Bjorkman told the tennis Live news reporters and the official ATP website that Swiss player remains the best tennis player in the world, although Nadal is currently topping the ATP tennis rankings.

Swedish Bjorkamn was quoted sauying: "There's a difference in class and Federer is a much, much better player than (world number 1) Nadal at this point in time." Note that Bjorkamn was a former world number 4 in the world tennis standings before quitting the pro tennis swinging.

The quote of Bjorkman is expected to raise a few eyebrows on the tennis news side of the story as well as among the tennis experts especially considering the fact that Nadal has won 7 tennis tournaments so far in 2010 tennis season, including the French Open, Wimbledon and US Open.

Still, and despite all the wins of Nadal tennis outfits, Bjorkman was inflexible that the 9 Grand slam winner Nadal is not to be compared to the Swiss Federer till the Spaniard manages to match Federer's staying power at the 4 Grand Slam tennis tournaments.

Referring to the ATP tennis statistics, the 29 years old already owns a tennis record of 16 major tennis tournaments’ wins; furthermore, his tennis rackets have owned him a stunning 23 Grand Slam semi-finals in a row which, in the perspective of all tennis experts, is looked upon as an unbeatable tennis record.

Bjorkman added to the ears of the Live Tennis reporters that "Nadal has to come up to the same level when it comes to grand slam titles before it can even be discussed. It's a question of injuries and motivation and how long Nadal can continue. The big difference is that Federer is such a great ambassador. He does so much to market tennis. Nadal will need to stay healthy for a long time and break all of Federers records before it's even worth discussing."

Although Federer has been suffering from a bending season, Bjorkman was thrilled to pursuade Federer to play his Sweden-based tennis tournament.

Bjorkman said that Federer "missed the tournament once before and he said that he wanted to make it up to people. He's a fantastic ambassador, he doesn't usually miss tournaments and he really felt that he wanted to come back here."
