Cristiano Ronaldo Wayne Rooney Agreement

Former Man Utd player and actual Real Madrid top scorer Cristiano Ronaldo was quoted backing up the English Premier League star Wayne Rooney with his decision to re-sign for the Manchester United jerseys.

Rooney, who almost quit playing for the Red Devils of Man UTD, had signed a long term agreement to remain within the Old Trafford football stadium and among his football fans that, in a 1st-ever incident, gathered outside his house for a protest whilst threatening him in case he moves to the United direct rivals, the Manchester City football team.

Ronaldo told the Sky Sports News that "Rooney knows what's best for his career so we have to respect his decisions. I think the best club for him is in Manchester, of course."

Wayne Rooney had previously released a statement expressing his concerns about the "future squad" and the lack of determination within the Manchester United team not to mention the "continued ability of the club to attract the top players in the world."

Cristiano Ronaldo's departure from Manchester United to Real Madrid in 2009 brought around £80 million of cash into the English Premier League team, considered to be one of the best football teams in the world. Still, Man Utd had lost a key asset, whereas Chelsea was able to cruise along the English Premier League fixtures to acumulate points and win the domestic league as well as the FA Cup. On the side of Sir Alex Ferguson, a Carling Cup victory marked the club’s top achievement for 2010.

Real Madrid was one of the soccer clubs that were linked directly with a possible football transfer of Rooney from the Manchester United towards the royal club of Spain. Real Madrid bet on football was reported to be a secondary option and far from being a priority… perhaps a matter of marketing or a way to reduce the cost of purchasing Rooney who, against all betting odds, signed for Manchester United again.
