US PGA tour head told the PGA official website and the golf news magazines that he is more than satisfied to hear about the decision of Tiger Woods, about moving away from golf clubs and from golf tournaments for some time; the time-out taken by the best golfer in the world is a consequence to a series of golf rumors, golf critics and personal life mistakes such as infidelity (sex scandal); still, the PGA tour spokesperson admitted that golf putters and golf scores will not remain the same with Tiger Woods off the golf standings.

Tim Finchem, PGA Tour Commissioner, told the golf magazines and live golf TV broadcasters that the loss of TV live viewers and the retreat of golf sponsors is exaggerated; previous golf statistics and golf reports pointed at a flipside reaching 50% less golf viewers and less sponsors due to the departure of Tiger Woods, the world’s best golfer.

Aside of being married to his Swedish wife Elin Nordegren, the golf idol (cover of EA Sports PGA golf tour game for many years) is potentially the richest athlete; a fortune acquired thanks to the multi-million dollars endorsements for Nike golf, Gatorade energy drink, Gillette, Tag Heuer Luxury watches and many other sponsors.

Finchem acknowledged, in front of Live golf TV cameras that not everything is fine; "We're in a down economy, it's harder and having the Number 1 player in our sport not play is not a positive thing and it does hurt television ratings."

PGA Tour official added that “We are going to be successful in '10 (months) if Tiger is out for a couple of months or 8 months or a year".

Back to the 2008 PGA Tour statistics, the revenues reached $773 million, incoming from live golf on TV, golf tournaments, aside of $208 million Dollars incoming from supporting affiliates and businesses of which we mention the golf official website, golf equipment, golf products, golf apparel…

Since PGA 2010 encloses the same number of golf tournaments as in 2008 PGA, Finchem wishes to reach the same amount of revenues despite the golf rumors and golf scandal over Tiger Woods private life, earlier last month.
