Tiger Woods PGA Player of The Year 2009

Tiger Woods, and despite the multi-accusations that are tackling the best golfer in the world, has been given the “PGA Tour award of the year” surprisingly, despite the indefinite break from PGA golf and consequent to the sparking sex scandals. Woods, who is currently facing the worst golf moments of his career, has been crowned as the Golf player of the year in an annual celebration hosted by the PGA Tour.

World number 1 in golf standings, Tiger Woods, has won it; Woods got the majority of world golf votes for the 10th time in 13 PGA Tour seasons; apparently, the sex scandals, bad image and decrease of golf results do not seem to affect the votes.

Writers of America made the votes count in favor of Woods as he got elected “Golfer of the Year”; at 33 years old, the American seems to make the most lucrative topic for golf news, sports news and for any media scoops especially after the extra-marital affairs in Tiger Woods personal life.

The “PGA Tour Rookie of the year” award was acquired by Marc Leishman; votes placed Leishman on top of the PGA standings of rookies as he became the 1st Australian golf player to claim a major golf award since PGA 1990, when the award was created.

As for Leishman, the 2009 PGA Rookie of the year, was able to hit 3 top-10 PGA results during the PGA Tour 2009; Leishman ended the BMW golf championship in the 2nd spot of the World golf standings at that particular golf tournament that constitutes the 3rd part of the Fedex Cup in PGA Tour playoffs.
