Brodeur New NHL Record 2009

NHL Goalie, Martin Brodeur, is more likely to become the best NHL Goaltender ever, after grabbing a new NHL record for games played by a goaltender; Brodeur overcame that old NHL record as he tackled the ice hockey game of the New Jersey Devils V Ottawa Senators, ending it with an additional victory for the Devils jerseys by a final NHL score of 4-2.

The veteran hockey goal keeper of the New Jersey Devils was already the record-holder for the NHL most winning goalkeeper, surpassing Patrick Roy’s 1030 NHL schedules; interviewed by NHL Live, NHL magazines (Sports Illustrated, ESPN Magazine…) and hockey websites (NHL.com), Brodeur said that "It was a fun game to be a part of, to be sure."

The goaltender of the Devils hockey outfit added that "It was an exciting game and it was fun to play."

Martin Brodeur is also tied with terry Sawchuk for “the most regular season shutouts” on 103; however, Brodeur jersey was denied from becoming the only NHL leader of score by Alexander Picard and Jarkko Ruutu who scored hockey goals for the Senators that are on an NHL record of 17-13-4; both NHL goals of the Senators were scored during the 2nd period.

Jay Pandolfo and Bryce Salvador scored to leading hockey goals by sending the hockey pucks into the net of Ottawa Senators goal; based on NHL stats of the official hockey website (NHL.com), the Devils just completed a 9-0 run in the hockey games against Ottawa; a streak that started in the 27th of October 2007.

The openning NHL goals came from Jamie Langenbrunner and from Brian Rolston whose hockey bats were supposed to help brodeur in setting a new NHL record; Brodeur had to overcome a harsh collision with Ottawa Senators hockey player Jonathan Cheechoo during the 2nd period. The clash left the goaltender laid onto the hockey ice for a few minutes before tackling the hockey ice game again.

Cheechoo told the NHL.com and the Sports magazines (ESPN Mag and SI) that Brodeur "is probably the best goalie to ever play, so you have to get in front of him to limit vision as much as you can."

Cheechoo added that "Even when he was screened he made saves most goalies wouldn't."

With Martin Brodeur crafting his last win, the NHL goaltender extends his NHL record to a total of 579 as he demonstrated the achievement of reaching the record of most games played in 2 NHL seasons less than Roy who featured for the NHL Teams of Montreal Canadiens and of Colorado Avalanche in an NHL career that stretched between 1985 NHL and NHL 2003.
